Breslin Architects was honored with an “Award of Excellence” from the American Institute of Architects/Eastern Pennsylvania for the design of this project.
The predominant features of the design are the glass entrance façade and clerestory windows. At night, the illuminated library reveals inviting, light-filled spaces within. In daytime, the reflective quality of the glass permits natural light to penetrate glare-free into the reading areas.
The building provides shelving for 250,000 volumes, seating for 300 readers, a community room, a rare books room, and a wing dedicated to children’s activities.
