Breslin Architects received a “National Design Award” from the Brick Institute of America for this project. The Institute cited “the pleasing way this friendly and warm structure blends with the adjoining neighborhood”.
Offering an independent lifestyle to seniors who need minimal assistance, this four-story facility provides forty-five bedroom units. Included are activity rooms and television lounges on each level. A glass enclosed, roof top dining room affords interesting views of the cityscape.
A large recessed porch along the main street provides shaded seating and an opportunity for “people watching”. The abstract house profiles along the street façade were included in the design in friendly deference to the surrounding residential neighborhood.
