Breslin Architects was honored with an “Award of Merit” from the American Institute of Architects/
Eastern Pennsylvania for the design of this project.
Designed as a new “gateway” to the Lehigh Valley, this terminal expansion provides 7 gates for narrow body jets and 2 gates for regional aircraft. Large expanses of glass offer views of the planes, runways, and distant mountains, enhancing the traveler’s experience. The continuous, north facing, skylight monitor fills the main concourse with natural light and creates a lofty, soaring feeling, Granite, custom carpeting and stainless steel railings define the interiors.
On the exterior, a modern image is conveyed by the strong rhythm of structural columns, glass curtainwall, and white metal panels. Crisp detailing further imbues the building with a strong character and high-tech efficiency.
